Head of horse, atlas

SUNDAY Racing purchased Muzbid at the Tattersalls Horses in Training Sale in conjunction with Denis Hogan for our ceiling price of £15,000 Guineas and like all of the Sunday horses he was syndicated within a matter of days.

He was a lightly raced 3yo from Dermot Welds stable and with the greatest of respect to one of the worlds best trainers 2017 had been one of his poorer years so there was an element of hope that Muzbid was a very talented horse who wasn’t in a situation to show his true potential. Muzbid was catalogued as having made a noise i.e. he potentially had a breathing issue however, this transpired not to be the case and we have since learned that this issue was included in the sales catalogue in error.

Muzbid showed a brilliant aptitude for
hurdling when schooled at home and we
decided to embark on a juvenile
hurdling campaign.

Unfortunately things didn’t go to plan and Muzbid met with a setback in his hurdling debut. He will now go to Patrick Prendergast for a summer flat campaign before returning to Denis Hogan for hurdling in the Autumn.

Update: 15th May, 2018. Muzbid has now run twice for Patrick Prendergast and after a somewhat inauspicious return to action in Clonmel he showed something more like we expected when 3rd in a competitive Curragh handicap. We may well box clever from here and find what looks a softer touch for him in a Gowran Park Claimer at month end
